The most important thing is prayer and meditation in the morning. I read my For Today and Voices of Recovery along with a non-OA daily book. I review my previous day to see if there is anything to add to my 10th Step. I like meditation through writing a letter to God or just writing my thoughts down.
My food is weighed and measured 98% of the time, whether I am home or eating out. I am a volume eater so weighing and measuring is crucial. I can rationalize to overeat on “healthy” abstinent foods. I stick to a prescribed 6 artificial sweeteners a day as was recommended by my nutritionist; I only use a natural form of it.
I find it critical to success in my program to be sponsored and be a sponsor. I learn so much from my sponsor and sponsees; it always gives me a new perspective on my own program.
I exercise 2 to 3 times a week, it helps my health and also my moods. I feel so much better. I find classes are better for me so that I have the social aspect of joining people in a healthy environment.
